Welcome to City Arts Portsmouth CIC, a community interest company based in Portsmouth that brings people together through creativity, collaboration and accessible cultural experiences. Our work includes exhibitions, workshops, artist development, mentoring, public art, socially prescribed creative activities and large-scale events such as POSE Portsmouth Open Studios. We support visual artists, performers, writers, musicians, photographers and communities by creating opportunities to make, share and experience creativity in meaningful and unexpected ways, both in traditional venues and in everyday public spaces.

We believe creativity belongs to everyone and that people should be able to engage with the arts regardless of age, background, confidence, experience or formal training. We recognise equal value in people at every stage of their creative journey, from those picking up a paintbrush for the first time to established practitioners with decades of experience. We aim to create welcoming, supportive spaces where people of all abilities feel encouraged to take part, develop ideas, share work and connect with others through creativity.

We work collaboratively with organisations including Artecology, Portsmouth Historic Quarter, The National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth City Council, community groups, schools, cultural partners and local organisations on projects that explore wellbeing, identity, heritage, environment and place. As a CIC, our focus is on social impact, inclusion and strengthening connections across the city through the arts, while helping make creativity visible, welcoming and accessible to a wider audience.
